Extract pages from a PDF: what to expect
Extracting is the opposite of removing: you name what you want to keep. It is the fastest way to share a chapter, a signed page or the two figures your colleague asked for, without touching the rest of the document.
Because you list pages in the order you want them, extraction doubles as a light reordering tool. For anything more involved, Organize pages gives you the full sequence.
Bookmarks and internal links that point outside the extracted set are dropped; those inside keep working.
Questions, answered
- Can the same page appear twice?
- Yes. 1, 1, 2 gives you page one twice, which is occasionally useful for forms.
- One file or several?
- One. Use Split PDF for several.
- Are pages resized?
- No. Each page keeps its own size and orientation.
- Do links still work?
- Links within the extracted pages do; links to pages you did not extract are removed.
- What about form fields?
- Fields on extracted pages are kept.
