Text is set in a monospaced font, so tables made with spaces, ASCII diagrams, logs and code keep their layout.
Any encoding, any language
UTF-8 files, with or without a byte-order mark, and older Windows text files are both read correctly, including accented and non-Latin characters.

The result is a text PDF, not a picture: it can be searched, selected and copied, and it stays small.
Convert TXT to PDF: what to expect
Plain text is the most portable format there is until someone has to print it or attach it to a form that only takes PDF. Opening it in a word processor and exporting works, but proportional fonts wreck anything aligned with spaces. This converter keeps the monospaced look of a text editor.
Lines longer than the page are wrapped rather than cut off, and page breaks fall where the page is full. Line endings from Windows, macOS and Linux are all handled, so a file written on any system comes out the same.
For documents with headings, bold text or images, a Word or ODT file converts better, since plain text has no formatting to carry over. For turning a PDF back into text, use PDF to text.

- Liberation Mono, a monospaced font with wide language coverage, at 10 points.
- Are accented or non-English characters supported?
- Yes. UTF-8 is read first; if a file is not valid UTF-8 it is read as Windows-1252.
- Can I convert CSV or log files?
- Yes, any plain text file works. A CSV comes out as text lines, not as a table.
- Can I search the text in the PDF?
- Yes. The PDF contains real text.
- Does it count against my daily allowance?
