Convert PDF to Excel
Get the tables out of a PDF report, statement or price list and into a spreadsheet you can sort, filter and calculate with.
- 1Add a PDF with tables.

Rendering page previews…
This PDF looks password-protected, so we can't show page previews here. Type the page numbers instead, or unlock it first.
Drag on the page preview, or set how much to cut from each edge.
Add at least two PDFs to merge.
This tool is still in development. You can arrange files locally; nothing is uploaded until it opens.
Files are uploaded over an encrypted, single-use link, processed on our own servers and deleted within one hour.

Tables found automatically
Tables with ruled lines are detected on each page and copied cell by cell, with the first row in bold. Pages without ruled tables are laid out on columns from the position of the text.
Numbers you can calculate with
“1,234.56”, “1.234,56”, “(40)” and “15%” are stored as numbers, so SUM and formulas work straight away. Codes such as “007” and dates stay exactly as printed.
Scans included
A scanned PDF has no text to copy, so it is read with OCR first in the language you choose, then arranged into columns.
Convert PDF to Excel: what to expect
Copying a table out of a PDF usually gives you one long column of values or a paste where every row lands in a single cell. This converter rebuilds the grid instead. Each page becomes its own sheet, named after the page, so a multi-page report stays easy to navigate.
Ruled tables, the kind with visible lines between cells, convert most reliably. Tables drawn only with spacing, common in bank statements and exported reports, are rebuilt from where each word sits on the page: values that line up on the page end up in the same column. That works well for clean layouts and less well for text that wraps inside a cell.
For scans, the result depends on the quality of the scan. Straight, sharp pages at 200 to 300 DPI read well; photos taken at an angle or faint copies produce more recognition errors. Check totals against the original before you rely on them.
Questions, answered
- Does every page become a sheet?
- Yes. Each page gets its own sheet named “Page 1”, “Page 2” and so on.
- Are numbers stored as numbers?
- Yes, where they are clearly numbers, including thousands separators, negative values in brackets and percentages. A lone “1,234” is read as one thousand two hundred thirty-four; a lone “1.234” as a decimal.
- What about text outside the tables?
- On pages where ruled tables are found, only the tables are copied. On other pages every line of text is placed on the sheet, split into columns.
- Can it convert scanned PDFs?
- Yes. Scans are read with OCR in the language you pick. Accuracy depends on scan quality.
- Does it count against my daily allowance?
- Yes, it uses 5 units, like PDF to Word, because of the layout analysis and OCR.
