Draw or type
Sign with a finger, trackpad or mouse, or type your name in a signature style. Choose the page, corner and size; the signature is placed on the page itself.
Place on any page
Last page, first page or any page by number, in one of six positions. Most forms want the bottom right of the last page, which is the default.
Clear about what it is
This is a visual signature: it shows you signed. It is not a certificate-based digital signature that proves identity or detects later changes.
Add a signature to a PDF: what to expect
Most everyday signing is about agreement, not cryptography: a rental form, a permission slip, a quote you accept. A visual signature placed on the PDF is exactly what those situations need, and it is what people mean when they say “just sign it and send it back”.
A certificate-based digital signature is a different thing. It binds the document to a verified identity and lets anyone detect changes made after signing. We are researching that separately, including where keys and timestamps live and which trust lists apply, and will offer it under its own name when it is ready.
Sign last. Merging, compressing or reordering after signing changes the file, which at best looks odd and at worst undermines the point of the signature. Prepare the document fully, then sign, then send.
Questions, answered
- Is this a legally binding signature?
- A visual signature can be sufficient for many agreements, but validity depends on the jurisdiction and the type of document. We do not claim universal legal validity or a qualified signature.
- Is this certificate-based signing?
- No. There is no certificate, identity verification or tamper detection. That is a separate capability we are working on.
- Can I edit the document after signing?
- You can, but later edits change the file. Sign as the final step.
- Do you keep my signature?
- No. The signature image lives only in the job and is deleted with the input and output within one hour.
- Can I ask someone else to sign?
- Signature requests need longer retention and a separate agreement about storage. They are not part of this tool.
