Fonts embedded
The PDF carries its fonts, so it prints and displays the same everywhere. Missing Microsoft fonts are replaced by metric-compatible ones, so line breaks stay put.

Convert RTF to PDF: what to expect
RTF is the format WordPad saves by default and a common export from TextEdit on the Mac, legal and medical software, and older word processors. It opens almost anywhere, but it looks different in every program. A PDF fixes the layout for good.
The document is opened by LibreOffice Writer and exported as PDF with the fonts embedded. Calibri, Cambria, Arial and Times New Roman are replaced by fonts with the same character widths when the originals are not available, which keeps pagination very close to the source.
Some RTF features written by specific programs, such as unusual field codes or embedded OLE objects, may not render exactly. Check the result for documents where every detail matters.

- WordPad, TextEdit, Microsoft Word (Save as RTF) and many older and specialist programs.
- Are images and tables kept?
- Yes. Embedded pictures and tables are carried into the PDF.
- Will the layout match exactly?
- Usually very closely. Fonts that are not installed are replaced by metric-compatible ones, so line and page breaks stay in place.
- Can I convert DOCX too?
- Yes, use Word to PDF. It also accepts DOC and ODT.
- Does it count against my daily allowance?
